Another red “leave meeting” button will appear. Orange Arrow: When you are ready to leave the meeting, click the red “leave” button. White Arrow: Depending on the host settings, you may find an option to record the meeting to your computer. If the host allows, participants can click this icon and then choose what files from their computer to share. Grey Arrow: Zoom allows participants to share content to the meeting window. When sending a chat, you can choose “everyone” or specific participants to chat with my using the drop-down menu. Yellow Arrow: By clicking on the chat icon, a side bar will open that allows you to communicate with the host & participants without speaking out loud. By clicking on the icon, a side bar will open with the names of all participants. Green Arrow: This allows you to see how many people are participating in the meeting. If your video is on, participants will be able to see whatever is in the view of your computer camera. You can control it my clicking on the camera icon. It is good Zoom etiquette to keep yourself muted unless you are the one speaking.īlue Arrow: Like the mic, your video may be automatically turned off. Likewise, click on the mic again to unmute. If not, click on the mic and it will mute. If your mic has a red line through it, then you are muted. If you’ve joined the meeting before the host, you might be shown a holding screen until they join and start the meeting.Red Arrow: You may be automatically muted upon entering a meeting.

Assuming you’re joining a UK call with a UK phone number, you will be charged your normal call rate with no extra fees. Calling into a meeting is simple: just dial the number you were given and enter the Meeting ID when prompted. If you can join by dialling in, the organiser will have sent you the Meeting ID and number to call when they invited you. Dialling in with mobile should be saved as a last resort, especially as some meetings may not support it. This makes it a better experience for everyone and will allow you to view any resources being shared in the call, such as a presentation. It’s always best to try and join a meeting online using the Zoom app on your computer or smartphone/tablet if possible.

You can’t join in browser on tablets or smartphones. If you haven’t downloaded the app you'll be automatically taken to a webpage asking you to download it. When asked what you’d like to open the link with select 'Zoom'.
